The old quarry on the left hand side of Whinlatter Pass road (the B5292) try and arrive early to get a Park. Alternatively Park in Braithwaite and walk the short distance to the quarry.

About the walk

The footpath from Braithwaite to Grisedale Pike starts in the village, climbing steadily up the long north-eastern shoulder of the hill we move on past Sleet How towards the summit. The summit of Grisedale Pike is an excellent vantage point from which to survey the northern fells.Continue past Hobcarton Crag to Hopegill Head. Drop into Coledale Hause then onto Crag Hill. This is the highest point of the day. From here onto Sail and the Scar Crags before our final summit of the day Causey Pike.Then our descent into Stoneycroft, Uzzicar and finally back to the village.
